Tomáš Ottych wurde in Brünn (Tschechien) geboren und besuchte dort das Staatliche Tanzkonservatorium sowie ab 2000 die Tanzakademie in Köln. Anschließend wurde er an das Aalto Ballett Essen engagiert, zunächst als Gruppentänzer, ab 2003/2004 als Solotänzer. Gastauftritte führten ihn u. a. an die Nationaltheater von Brünn und Bratislava sowie in die Slowakei, nach Österreich und Japan. Der mehrfache Preisträger tanzte u. a. Partien in „Schwanensee“, „Giselle“, „Romeo und Julia“, „La Fille mal gardée“ und „Der Glöckner von Notre Dame“. Am Aalto-Theater war er u. a. als Alexej („Die Brüder Karamasow“), Teiresias/Odysseus („Mein Ithaka“), Er („The Wall“), Nijinsky („Diaghilew: Die Favoriten“), Prinz („Cinderella“), Prinz Siegfried („Schwanensee“), Komponist („Die roten Schuhe“), Fremder („Die Kinder“), Leonce („Leonce und Lena“), Coppélius („Coppélia“), Hexe Madge („La Sylphide“), in der Hauptpartie von „Verklärte Nacht“ sowie mit solistischen Partien in „La vie en rose“ und „Tanzhommage an Queen“ zu sehen. Nach einem Wechsel zum Leipziger Ballett 2010/2011, wo er u. a. in der Titelpartie von „Chaplin“, als Bandmitglied in „Jim Morrison“ und als Prinz („Cinderella“) zu erleben war, kehrte er 2013/2014 als Solotänzer mit Gruppenverpflichtung zur Aalto-Compagnie zurück. Seither übernimmt er Partien wie den Prinzen („Cinderella“), Hilarion („Giselle“), den Butler in „Der Nussknacker“ sowie die Titelpartien in „Die Odyssee“ und „Don Quichotte“.

Subsequently he joined the Aalto Ballet Essen as a group dancer and in 2003/2004 he was promoted to a soloist. Guest performances have taken him to the National Theatre in Brno and Bratislava, as well as to Slovakia, Austria and Japan. This multiple award winner (Ballet Competitions in Brno and Vienna) has performed roles in “Swan Lake”, “Giselle”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Le fille mal gardée” and in “The Hunchback from Notre Dame”. On the Aalto stage he performed solo roles as Alexey (“The Brothers Karamazov”), Teiresias/Odysseus (“Mein Ithaka”), He (“The Wall”), Nijinsky (“Diaghilev: The Favourites”), Prince ("Cinderella”), Siegfried ("Swan Lake”), Composer ("The Red Shoes”), Stranger ("The Children”), Prince Leonce ("Leonce and Lena”), Coppélius ("Coppélia”), Madge (“La Sylphide”). He performed the leading role in “Verklärte Nacht” and danced further solo parts in "La vie en rose” and "Homage to Queen”. In 2010/2011 he continued his career by joining the Leipzig Ballet where he performed the leading roles in "Chaplin”, Band Leader ("Jim Morrison”) and the Prince ("Cinderella”). In autumn 2013 he returned to the Aalto Company as a soloist with group obligations and since has performed the Prince ("Cinderella“), Hilarion ("Giselle“), Butler ("The Nutcracker“) and the title roles in "Odyssee“ and "Don Quichotte“.
