Geboren in Hokkaido Sapporo, Japan, studierte Miyako Nakai am Masuya Hiroko Ballet Studio in Sapporo sowie am Australian Conservatoire of Ballet in Melbourne. Engagements führten sie zur Menlowe Ballet Company in San Francisco sowie an das Theater Dortmund. Dabei tanzte sie u. a. die Zuckerfee in „Der Nussknacker“, Diana in „La Esmeralda“ sowie Prinzessin Florine („Dornröschen“). Seit 2023 gehört sie der Compagnie des Aalto Ballett Essen als Gast an.
